Medical Centre Opens at Coomera Waters

Community life at Coomera Waters, one of the finest eco-lifestyle developments on the Gold Coast, has reached another milestone this week with the opening of a medical centre and pharmacy in its popular Marina Village.

The medical facility is the latest addition to a range of specialty stores opened over the past 12 months at the multi-million-dollar retail and commercial precinct within Coomera Waters, developed by Austcorp Group Limited.

The medical centre and pharmacy will be operated by pharmacist Malcolm Coghill who runs similar facilities in Tugun, Upper Coomera and is soon to open another at Robina.

The Coomera Waters medical centre and pharmacy occupies 160sqm on the ground floor of the two-storey commercial centre, bringing the occupancy rate to 95%. Only one commercial space of 65sqm now remains available for lease.

Alison Quinn, Austcorp’s Queensland State Manager – Built Form, said: “With over 2000 residents now, Coomera Waters is one of the most popular waterfront communities on the north shore and the business opportunities it presents are being realised.”

“Coomera Waters now has its own medical centre and pharmacy right at its door step. The facility is a valuable asset to the community, which is expected to double in population over the next few years with further release of land.”

Other tenants at the Marina Village commercial and retail precincts include a bottleshop, a homewares, a hair and beauty studio, a Delimart supermarket and commercial offices including a boat brokerage.

Close by is also a tavern and restaurant, providing entertainment at one of the best waterfront locations within the estate.

Pharmacist Mr Coghill said he has invested in the future of Coomera Waters to ensure the business would service the needs of the large community to be established in coming years.

“Coomera Waters is taking shape as one of the Gold Coast’s most liveable communities with its wide range of facilities and from a long-term business point of view there is major growth potential here,” he said.

Coomera Waters is located just east of Dreamworld on Foxwell and Colman Roads and is based around a 17-hectare harbour, with deep-water ocean access including a 72-berth marina.

The community enjoys easy access to the M1 Motorway, rail link and numerous public and private schools with future infrastructure to include university and TAFE campuses, library, shopping and entertainment in the planned Coomera Town Centre.
