2008 a Strong Start for Coomera Waters Total Sales Break $250 Million Record

14 March 2008

Coomera Waters has made a flying start to the new year, with nearly $10 million sales in the first two months, pushing total land sales at the eco-development past $250 million.

More than 20 unconditional sales took place during January and February alone at Austcorp's award-winning eco-community on the northern Gold Coast.

A further 38 homesites had deposits taken from individual buyers or firm expressions of interest by builders.

Austcorp's Queensland land manager Scott Biggs said buyers interest has been strong across the board, with sales momentum building up for waterfront, elevated and dry conventional homesites.

"With years of development works behind it, Coomera Waters is now an established community with hundreds of homes already built. The thriving community in turn draws more interest from buyers who are increasingly keen to settle quickly and start building so their families can move in early," Mr Biggs said.

"Seven of our last nine remaining waterfront homesites have sold, which leaves only two of these premier blocks available, measuring 770sqm and 686sqm, for $840,000.

"These blocks are never to be repeated, representing the very last of the 149 waterfront lots in the Coomera Waters master plan."

Dry homesites in the stages of Evergreen High and Village High were also a popular choice, Mr Biggs said, with buyers and investors appreciating the expansive lots with elevated views.

Only nine homesites now remain in Village High, Coomera Waters' premier street, with prices starting from $295,000.

In Evergreen High, where the majority of homesites back on to natural parkland reserve, only nine lots remain. Prices start at $325,000 with sizes from 864sqm to over 1,000sqm.

Mr Biggs said the development's eco-friendly design and its prime location, within easy reach of the Pacific Motorway linking Brisbane with the Gold Coast, continues to appeal to buyers.

"After a successful 2007 where we achieved strong sales and reached a significant milestone welcoming our 1000th buyer, we have had an exceptionally positive start to the new year," he said.

Mr Biggs said January and February buyers were a mix of Gold Coast locals and people who lived in Brisbane's southern suburbs.

"Coomera Waters continues to have a growing appeal among buyers who recognise the lifestyle benefits of living in a fully sustainable community with world class facilities on its doorstep," he said.

"Direct boating access to the Broadwater and Moreton Bay has been a major drawcard, and so has the community's location only minutes from the M1 motorway."

When Coomera Waters is finished in 2011, it will contain an estimated 1556 homesites, built across 30 stages.
