If Bronwyn Farr was looking for good neighbours then she has come to the right place at Coomera Waters.
Bronwyn, her husband Anthony, and their two children Vienna, 6, and Leo, 4, moved to the vibrant northern Gold Coast community 2½ years ago.
"We love it here," Bronwyn says from their stylish four-bedroom home, located near one of the community's two residents-only recreation clubs.
"We'd holidayed on the Gold Coast the two years previously and fell in love with the lifestyle, the people and the atmosphere, and we thought it would be perfect to move here if only we could earn the same income as we had in Sydney.
"Then the global IT company Anthony works for expanded into Queensland, setting up a base in Brisbane.
"Anthony was promoted to national sales director and here we are, only a 40 minute drive north on the M1 to Anthony's work in the city and only 15 minutes south to Southport.
"I do my communications work from home and the kids are happy as they've made lots of friends in the neighbourhood to play with."
Bronwyn said choosing Coomera Waters to live had been easy.
"We wanted to live in a relaxed environment with lots of open space, where people knew their neighbours. The good thing is, being in a newly established community, everyone here is in the same boat as us."
"There's so much to do here, and after living in Sydney for almost a decade where we knew only a few of our neighbours, to living here where we know almost everyone has been fantastic."
"Our neighbours have become our best friends and you really can pop next door for a cup of sugar – I literally did that only yesterday!"
"Real estate agents were always recommending Coomera Waters to us, so that was good to hear, and with friends close by on the Coast, it just felt right."
Bronwyn said the move had been great for the children and they had found a good school in Coomera Anglican College.
"We can't fault the school and with the planned infrastructure going ahead, such as the Coomera Town Centre, the area is undergoing a lot of change that will further enhance liveability for all residents in the region," she said.
Bronwyn says the quality of the Coomera Waters development was part of the community's appeal.
"We really enjoy the walking paths, the recreational facilities and all the greenery and open space of Coomera Waters. Austcorp has also gone to great lengths to maintain high architectural standards in the community and we have 24-hour onsite security patrolling."
"We couldn't be happier living here and we are excited about the future growth in the region, as well as our children growing up in a safe and idyllic environment."
