Master Builders Bring Showcase to Coomera Waters

02 June 2008

Masters Builders Queensland (MBQ) has chosen Austcorp's multi-award winning Coomera Waters to build a brand new display home village as the showcase for the northern Gold Coast region.

The display village will include 14 prestige homes by some of Queensland's most respected builders, featuring the latest housing designs, products and trends.

The Master Builders, all accredited with MBQ, include big names in the industry such as G J Gardener Homes, Golden Edge Homes, Gold Coast Unique Homes, Cosmopolitan Living and Glindermann Homes. They attended a land draw last Thursday at Coomera Waters to be allocated sites where they would build their respective homes.

The display village is housed in Nature's Retreat, Coomera Water's latest release within the $500 million eco-community developed around a 17 hectare harbour.

Austcorp has also just released 27 homesites in Nature's Retreat.

Austcorp Queensland land manager Scott Biggs said the selection by Masters Builders was yet another strong endorsement by industry leaders of the outstanding quality of Coomera Waters.

"Master Builders is Queensland's largest building industry membership organisation. The calibre of builders and the size of the display village is a badge of honour for Coomera Waters," Mr Biggs said.

"The specialist advice, products and services available to member builders will ensure houses of only the highest quality.

"For new buyers, nothing beats seeing the latest fittings and fixtures in brand new display homes that give them ideas for creating their own dream homes."

Master Builders Display Villages manager Martin Kerwin said the builders included some who were already active within and familiar with the Coomera Waters community.

"Builders who are invited to be in one our display villages are fully accredited with Master Builders Queensland and are selected only after meeting strict judging criteria," Mr Kerwin said.

"The developments and developers we approach to build a display village are also judged on their presentation, quality and professionalism.

"Coomera Waters is one of the most successful developments in Southeast Queensland in terms of its quality design, eco-friendly principles and the growing number of people who choose to live there.

"Its location in the growth corridor between Brisbane and the Gold Coast is a major strength and this display village will ensure we have a strong presence in Australia's fastest growing region."

Work on the first new home is expected to start in October, with the entire display village opening by mid 2009 as more homes are completed progressively.

Nature's Retreat latest release offers 27 new homesites, some with views to Mount Tamborine and the northern Gold Coast skyline.

Homesites measure 786sqm to 12,32sqm and are priced from $325,000.

"There are sloping and flat sites nestled in an environment enhanced by parks and nature reserves," Mr Biggs said.

"Purchasers will be able set foot on the homesites as early as the end of June to get a feel for the type of home they would like to build there, with settlement not until September."

Coomera Waters is located off the Pacific Motorway, just east of Dreamworld on the corner of Foxwell and Colman Roads.

Residents enjoy access to the Coomera Waters Marina Village featuring shops, cafes, a tavern-restaurant, offices, luxury waterfront villas and a 72-berth marina with deep water ocean access.

Community facilities include two residents-only recreation clubs with swimming pools, tennis courts, gyms, barbecue facilities, activity rooms and a beach volleyball court.

The community is just 40 minutes from Brisbane, 15 minutes from Southport and with easy access to the M1 Motorway, rail link and numerous public and private schools. Future infrastructure is to include university and TAFE campuses, library, shopping and entertainment in the planned Coomera Town Centre.

Coomera Waters is a leader of environmentally sustainable development, recognised as an EnviroDevelopment by the Urban Development Institute of Australia.
